The sun was shining over the CP fortress, tensions were high as the gamblers, the plucky newcomers into div 10 faced off against OK, who narrowly missed out on promotion last year, it was set to be a big game.

The game started with a lot of pace, fast passing from the Gamblers. Brenda in left attack converted her rally of tackles on the wing to gain a position in the middle of the D, scoring her first goal of the season by slipping the ball between the keeper’s legs.

Buoyed by the success of this first goal the gamblers pressed on, passing down the side like a dream, several times thwarted by their skilful goalie, after a banger of a ball in from beth, Ellie slipped it past the goalie.

Half time-2-0 to the gamblers, after a rousing team talk and some Percy Pigs we set up for the second half. 2 mins in, Ailie sent a womper of a ball into the D and Jess Reay got her stick on it to make it 3-0.
It was at this point in the game, the sass from both teams started to show. Abby whacked out the lying down tackle once again, Beth nearly took someone’s face off and Jess Watling got hit in the stomach, and OK player momentarily lost her stick in the air, the tension could be cut with a knife.

It was at this point Jess Watling walked the ball into the D and smashed it in. Full time: 4-0. Star goalie Britt Wilson maintains her clean sheet, and the 2s march forth into their third league game. Winter is coming❄, and so are the Ladies 2s!
